Assistant Professor Southern Illinois University Carbondale

The College of Applied Sciences and Arts is seeking a qualified Physician Assistant to serve as full time faculty within SIUC’s Physician Assistant Program, beginning December 1, 2008 or until a suitable candidate is found. This is a tenure-track position.

Required Qualifications: Earned Master’s degree and certification as a Physician Assistant. Licensed ( or eligible) in the state of Illinois. One year of clinical experience. Potential to develop a research program leading to successful publications in peer-reviewed literature.

Preferred Qualifications: Post-secondary teaching experience in problem-based learning. Two or more years of clinical experience.

Responsibilities: Teach in areas of expertise and tutor in problem-based learning. Coordinate student learning activities. Participate in indirect instructional activities. Maintain a limited clinical practice. Participate in research and service activities, as well as other assignments.

Metro Infectious Disease Consultants L.L.C. is accepting applications for Physician Assistant positions located within the Chicagoland area. The PA will work with the collaborating physician in St. Francis/Blue Island, Illinois Hospital, in an active inpatient practice to deliver health care services to our patients. This includes, but is not limited to, the diagnosis, treatment, and management of acute and chronic health problems, ordering, interpreting and performing laboratory and radiology tests, prescribing medications, including controlled substances, to the extent delegated, and performing other therapeutic or corrective measures as indicated.

The Physician Assistant shall consult with the collaborating physician by telecommunication or in person as needed. In the absence of the designated collaborating physician, another physician shall be available for consultation.
