Welcome

Degree’s Awarded

The SIU-C PA program offers two different program tracks.  The traditional 26 month program is offered on campus at SIU-C to students who are not already physician assistants.  This program allows students who have already earned a bachelor’s degree in an area other than Physician Assistant Studies to complete the requirements for a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies (MSPA) degree.  The Master’s Completion Program (MCP) allows students who are already PA-Cs and hold a Bachelor’s degree to complete the requirements for the MSPA degree via distance learning.  Students enrolled in this track must have already graduated from an accredited PA program, and already hold an NCCPA certificate.

Upon successful completion of both programs, a Master of Science Degree in Physician Assistant Studies (MSPA) is awarded. A Certificate of Completion in Physician Assistant Training is also awarded to students in the full 26 month program. These graduates are then candidates for national certification through the National Commission of the Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). (www.nccpa.net )
